About the Peach Pedal Bike Ride Print E-mail

The Course

Routes of 100K, 39 miles, 26 miles and 9 miles.

Bring your camera--there are some beautiful views! We're not going to lie to you--this course has some tough hills. But the hills are interspersed with flat stretches in beautiful western Parker County. Our 100K, 39-mile and 26-mile routes include periodic rest stops with drinks, snacks and rest rooms, as well as the fun folks of Parker County.

Routes and rest stops close no later than 1:30 p.m.

The Start

In 2008, we moved our start/finish and registration area to a new location--Weatherford High School on Interstate 20 and Bethel Road. The participants loved this new location, so we'll be there again this year.

Registration will take place in "The Outback," a separate building located to the east of the main building. The 100K starts at 7:30 a.m., the 39-mile starts at 7:45, and the 26-mile and 9-mile start together at 8:00.

The Finish

After the ride, take a shower at the high school and enjoy some live bluegrass music in "The Outback." We'll have plenty of snacks and drinks to help you cool down after an awesome ride.

Rosa's Cafe will be serving free burritos, and we'll have homemade peach ice cream for sale!

Safety/Road Assistance

We have mechanical assistance planned at every rest stop, with sag vehicles patrolling between the stops. The course will be well-marked, especially looking out for the very few rough spots on our new and improved routes. Helmets are required for all riders, and area law enforcement will assist with traffic crossings. All children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult over the entire ride.

The Peach Festival

After the ride, shuttle buses will take riders from the start/finish to the Parker County Peach Festival in downtown Weatherford, where you'll enjoy lots of food, crafts, music and country hospitality.

Shuttles run from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 3:00 p.m. from the start/finish to the Peach Festival and back.

The Cause

The ride benefits two great causes: scholarships and other assistance for students through the Weatherford College Foundation, and the promotion of our wonderful community through the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. Parker County is proud to have you in our community, and we roll out the red carpet on July 10!
